Polifibra Folien GmbH – Investing and conquering the Corona pandemic
01.02.2021 - 2020: An extraordinary year for Polifibra Folien GmbH but one we got through. The impact of the Corona pandemic can be widely and intensively felt in society and industry and has also stopped the film expert Polifibra from Limburg in Germany in its growth tracks - but – Polifibra has been making good use of these difficult times and invested with a pioneering vision to the future.
"We believe we are fit for the future and therefore feel optimistic about the business year 2021", says Polifibra manager Andreas Spahn
"We have managed - due to targeted internal measures - to emerge from this crisis relatively unscathed. Of course, the impact of the pandemic has, nevertheless, affected our divisions, too. That was the reason why we had to switch to short-time-work again and again during the course of 2020 in order to compensate for the reduction in orders. Some of our projects had to be delayed or postponed but we have made good use of the chances and possibilities provided during this time and arranged for important investments. Besides sustainable, new machinery we have managed - despite the pandemic - to expand production as intended. It took courage but in hindsight it also makes us immensely proud. We believe we are fit for the future and therefore feel optimistic about the business year 2021", says Polifibra manager Andreas Spahn.
Quickly recovering to reach pre-Corona level
Despite the drop in sales in 2020 the executive board is confident to reach the pre-Corona level of 2019 during the course of 2021 again. This line of thinking is supported by the significant increase in orders in the 4th quarter of 2020. In addition, in this second lockdown, compared to the first one, there is much more productivity apparent in the industry in general, Andreas Spahn states. Because of the order situation Polifibra Folien GmbH has even hired a new production worker, something that, under current circumstances, is everything but common practise and short-time-work at Polifibra was fully lifted at the end of 2020.
So, the film manufacturer starts the new year on a positive note and adjusts to the different requirements of its broad client base. "Of course, we notice, that our customers wish to streamline everything. The way out of the crisis is rather difficult for many a company and goes along with cuts to as many budgets. We support our customers by providing them with tailored and innovative solutions in regard to production batches, deliveries and workflows", says Andreas Spahn in comment to the change in customer dialogue. The sustainable investments in new production capabilities, which also provide for new applications, as well as the structural expansion enables Polifibra to offer its customers new solutions and ensures the competitive position of the company in the market at the same time. We will keep you updated and publish more information on the subject during March and April on our website. In difficult times such as these, the company's progressive and forward-thinking approach in particular is proving to be the right course of action.
