‘Taping Our Future’

The management team of Polifibra Folien Handelsgesellschaft mbH attended the 67th annual conference of the AferaEuropean Adhesive Tape Association, in the Greek coastal city of Thessaloniki between September 25 and 27 of 2024. The renowned industry get-together with its 2024 motto ‘Taping Our Future’, offering numerous technical seminars and various work sessions, is aimed at industry experts in standard and speciality adhesive tapes.

With more than 150 participants from 15 countries – including Europe, Asia, the USA and the Middle East – this year’s event was a valuable platform for intense networking and knowledge exchange. Participants from various fields of the adhesive tape industry were able to take the opportunity to discuss the latest developments and challenges of the industry.

During the three conference days, topical based work sessions focusing on the following topics were held:

• September 25: Market data and trends in the adhesive tape industry
• September 26: Regulatory issues and aspects of sustainability
• September 27: Current tape applications and technological innovations

Networking and Information Exchange

During coffee breaks as well as arranged lunches and dinners, Polifibra delegates had the opportunity to establish new contacts and intensify existing business relationships. The event also provided Polifibra’s team with an excellent platform to present its customized plasma equipment to potential new customers in great detail.

A particular highlight was the fact that participants along the entire value chain of the adhesive tape industry, including leading manufacturers of adhesive tapes, suppliers of raw material, machines and packaging, contractors as well as representatives of research institutions and also international partner organizations such as PSTC were present.

The event allowed participants to gain deeper insights into global and European market data, particularly with regard to developments in adhesive raw materials, the use of artificial intelligence in production, as well as regulatory and sustainability challenges affecting the adhesive tape industry. Other highlights included updates on adhesive tape markets in North America and Asia, testimonials by end users and new approaches to multi-process manufacturing.
