Waste Balance 2024 — Polifibra Again Awarded the REMONDIS Sustainability Certificate

Polifibra Folien GmbH has once again substantiated its sustainable approach within its business model and, as in previous years, has been awarded the recognized Sustainability Certificate by REMONDIS for responsible and environmentally friendly use of resources during 2024. The figures established for Polifibra in 2024 also show a further improvement as compared to previous year’s figures.

For example, the analyses for Polifibra during 2024 correspond to a saving in ‘fossil resources’ of 5.3 t of oil equivalent, a saving in ‘metals’ of 0.1 t of copper equivalent and a saving in ‘biogenic resources’ of 3.5 t of wood equivalent.

Furthermore, Polifibra’s general energy savings in 2024 amount to 93.1 MWh, which equates to the annual energy requirement of 6 average German households as to the supply of electricity and heat. The saving in greenhouse gas emissions by Polifibra stands at 5.2 t of CO2 equivalent, which equates to the emissions of a car after having driven 32,000 kilometers.

The REMONDIS certificate serves as a measuring and verification tool, and primarily looks at the waste management of a company in respect to disposal or recycling of raw materials, energy consumption and CO² emissions. Based on the life cycle assessment as defined in DIN EN ISO 14040, the evaluation of company data is carried out, using a scientific calculation model.
