‘Menschen für Kinder’ – Polifibra Accompanies the 27th Charity Bike Ride for Children in Need

On Saturday, June 14, 2025, it was that special time of year again. Around 500 cyclists – as ambassadors for children in need with the aim of collecting donations – got on their bikes in tropical heat and rode around a route leading through the district of Limburg-Weilburg, covering about 105 km. And these cyclist made the tour an impressive success: With a total donation of 260,500 euros, they surpassed last year’s record result of 250,000 euros.

Focusing on Children

Goal of this annual charity event is to help children with cancer and children in need, specifically by financing specialist medical equipment, research projects, individual assistance, and rehabilitation measures. Polifibra Folien GmbH is one of the donors and part of the campaign as well. ‘We are fully committed to this event. The initiative supports projects that directly and sustainably improve the lives of sick children,’ says Polifibra Managing Director Andreas Spahn, who, along with his wife and for the fourth year in a row, accompanied the group on a quad bike, guiding cyclists safely through the streets.

Donation cheques from local companies and private donors were accepted at five selected stops or donation stops. The handover of donations was accompanied by music and show highlights as well as prominent guests, such as patron and District Administrator Michael Köberle, local mayors and, of course, medical specialists and professors from university hospitals, who in no uncertain terms explained what the funds are urgently needed for. At the last stop before the finish line at the new headquarters of ‘Schäfer - Dein Bäcker’ in the Limburg ICE area, Polifibra’s team handed over its donation of 1,500 euros. Even bad weather, which caused a brief ‘break to take shelter’, on the final stretch to the start/finish line in Runkel-Steeden, incidentally at the energy supplier Süwag, couldn’t dampen the overall success of the event.

United for a Good Cause

For almost 30 years, Menschen für Kinder e.V. has been organizing events for good causes. In the last 10 years alone, the association raised, primarily through its charity bike tour, more than 2 million euros, and donated the money to children’s hospitals and children in need. The now 27th donation tour was once again an emotional day full of strength, solidarity, and regional team spirit, illustrating what really matters in life.

For Polifibra and its Managing Director Andreas Spahn, one thing is clear: With personal commitment, mutual support and a strong symbolic effect, the Limburg film specialist will continue to actively support Menschen für Kinder e.V. and its donation tour, giving sick children hope in doing so.
