1st Afera European Tape Week 2025 – Thessaloniki

From 23 until Sept. 26, 2025, the 1st Afera European Tape Week brought together leaders from the adhesive tape and film industry for three days of technical seminars, committee meetings, and Afera’s 68th Annual Conference. The event showcased how innovation, sustainability, and digital transformation are shaping the future of the industry.

Highlights included:

• Technical Seminar: 12 presentations and 2 panel discussions on new PSA chemistries, LED-curable adhesives, biomimetic adhesion, AI-driven R&D, and automation in testing.
• Production & Sustainability: Sessions on UV hot melt coating, double-sided silicone coating, chemical recycling, and compliance with EU regulations (PPWR, EUDR).
• Market & Strategy: Insights on global market trends, raw material costs, DE fossilization, and packaging innovations.

Representing Polifibra, Mr. Andreas Spahn (CEO) and Mr. Stefan Bange (Global Business Development Manager) attended the seminar, gaining additional insight into the tape and film sector, new chemistries, production technologies, and market trends, supporting Polifibra’s efforts to offer advanced PLASMA surface treatment solutions for PET, PP, PA, PE, and PI films.
