Polifibra in 2025: Successful Financial Year after a Slow Start
10.12.2025 - Annual Sales Exceed Target by 10%
The financial year 2025 has, overall, been a very positive one for Polifibra Folien GmbH. After a slow start at the beginning of the year, demand for film products increased significantly as of April, resulting in an increase in turnover for the Limburg-based film specialist of around 10% at the end of the year compared to its original targets. This represents a strong result, significantly above the current trend in German and European industry. Managing Director Andreas Spahn sums it up succinctly: ‘Given the current market situation, we are extremely satisfied with how business has developed this year.’
Given the market situation, Managing Director Andreas Spahn is extremely satisfied with the business development this year.
Polifibra’s primary drivers of growth were films for the electrical and cable industry, with significant demand for data cables. Development in the still young field of plasma processes has been cautious, as this area of business is still in an initial market phase. In addition to its encouraging operating performance, Polifibra also looks at several strategic and technological advances during the current calendar year. The company remains committed to sustainability and at the beginning of the year, it was awarded the REMONDIS Sustainability Certificate for its resource-efficient and environmentally friendly production methods. At the same time, Polifibra is able to announce that it is advancing cooperation with the Fraunhofer Institute in a research project funded by ZIM (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs). The aim of the project is to optimize adhesive properties of films in the area of plasma and tape.
Another highlight in 2025 was, is and continues to be the successful joint project ‘POLIFERAN’ with the Wickeder Group and SIKA Technology GmbH. Since 2023, the partners have jointly developed a high-performance composite, combining the highest quality and industrial relevance for battery cell production, which they have now successfully brought to market maturity. This marks a pioneering project for the energy storage sector. In addition, Polifibra has further streamlined its in-house production in 2025, upgrading the rewinding machine with new motors, a revised control system, and specially programmed software. In September, a Polifibra delegation once again attended the AFERA Tape Conference in Greece, one of the most important industry gatherings for the tape industry, which provides valuable inspiration and the chance to meet network partners. Social commitment also remains a key part of Polifibra’s corporate culture, and the company once again provided active support for the 27th charity bike ride organized by ‘Menschen für Kinder e.V.’ (People for Children assn.).
In light of the global economic climate, the outlook for 2026 is uncertain and remains difficult to predict. Due to global political and economic factors, long-term planning proves to be challenging for a wide range of industries. In line with its core strength, Polifibra remains committed to being a reliable, flexible, solutions-focused partner to all its customers. Several promising projects have already been initiated, enabling Polifibra’s management team, led by Managing Director Andreas Spahn, to start the new fiscal year with a sense of optimism and a focus on constructive progress.
