29.06.2026 - Polifibra Folien GmbH has consistently taken steps toward reducing its carbon footprint. In 2025, we achieved another significant decrease, as evidenced by the latest ecocockpit emissions report. This latest result builds on a long-term trend of gradually decreasing emissions, which has been made possible through various efficiency and sustainability initiatives implemented since our first assessment in 2021.
For Polifibra, this shows that measures implemented in recent years to improve energy efficiency and reduce resource consumption are increasingly having an impact. This improvement has been driven by technical upgrades to the energy supply system and increased use of renewable energy at the company’s site. Key factors include the installation of 100 kWp photovoltaic system in 2023 to generate electricity for the facility’s own use, as well as the commissioning of a new, significantly more efficient combined heat and power (CHP) plant. Both greatly reduce the facility’s fossil fuel consumption.
The calculation of carbon footprint includes direct emissions from energy use (Scope 1), electricity consumption (Scope 2) and select emissions from production waste (Scope 3). While it does not account for all emissions across the supply chain, the results do showcase the positive steps taken in enhancing energy and resource efficiency in day-to-day operations.
The persistent decline in its carbon footprint testifies to Polifibra Folien GmbH’s commitment to long-term sustainability. This strategy aims to harmonize environmental and financial objectives, gradually optimizing production processes and minimizing use of resources. Moreover, Polifibra is actively pursuing additional energy-saving initiatives and emission reductions in the near future.
