Polifibra Folien GmbH Again Rewarded with Sustainability Certificate

Polifibra Folien GmbH was once again rewarded with the REMONDIS Sustainability Certificate, an award recognized across all sectors. As in 2020, Polifibra will also receive the award in 2021 for responsibly handling resources and actively contributing to climate protection. In this context, the Limburg-based film specialist is set to evaluate its own carbon footprint for the very first time this year in order to meet current and future market conditions as well as customer requirements.

The REMONDIS certificate serves as a measuring and verification tool, and primarily looks at the waste management of a company in respect to disposal or recycling of raw materials, energy consumption and CO² emissions. Based on the life cycle assessment as defined in DIN EN ISO 14040, the evaluation of company data is carried out, using a scientific calculation model. The values calculated for Polifibra in 2021 equate to a saving of primary raw material of 30.9 tonnes, energy generation or saving of 135.1 MWh and a CO² saving of 17 tonnes of CO² equivalent.
