Savvas Christoulakis  – ‘The Pioneer Working the Plasma Machine’

Savvas Christoulakis is the chief technician for our new plasma machine and has been part of the Polifibra Folien GmbH family since April 1, 2022. The 51-year-old family man originates from Greece, to be more precise from the beautiful holiday island of Crete, where he studied physics and worked as a scientist at the local university. Mr Christoulakis is specializing in all kinds of coatings and during his time at university was primarily involved in experimental lab work. Now he is putting the acquired technical and theoretical knowledge into practice. These days such vast know-how benefits Polifibra Folien GmbH in many ways. ‘Practice is far more important than theory,’ says the Limburg resident, who always approaches his projects in a goal-orientated and focused manner.

In many respects, processing film by use of a plasma process is still uncharted territory in the film industry, and therefore particularly appealing to the physicist, who says that his goal is to better understand the machine and its properties in order to achieve optimum results and perfect solutions for customers. In doing so, he engages in in-depth exchange with scientific institutes and, of course, works closely with clients. ‘It’s all about adhesive properties of films and coming up with the right formulation for them,’ says the Greek. True to his working motto ‘Roll up your sleeves and keep going’, the ambitious coating expert is continuously striving for optimization and within a very short time has thus gained a high reputation at Polifibra as well as with its partners and customers.
