Polyester films

POLIFIBRA assembled a wide range of insulating films that are based on polyester films.

The polyester film usually is transparent, flexible and has a high mechanical strength. It is highly resistant to oil, grease and solvents and contains no plasticizers. Under normal operating conditions in the isolation area is polyester (Product: polyester film) aging. The electrical properties of the film are very good.

Polyester film is used in practice in temperature ranges from -60 ° C to 150 ° C in many industrial applications.

In the field of electrical insulation films are generally used in thicknesses 12μ to 350μ.

The polyester film has excellent mechanical strength and has a high resistance to oil, grease and solvents in general good compatibility with impregnating agents on.
Their electrical properties have been proven for many decades in the electrical industry.

Although polyester in the thermal class B is classified, it can also allow for higher temperatures depending on the use. The melting point is at 260/265 ° C.

Applications of polyester film:
  • electrical insulation for motors, transformers, capacitors, cables
  • as thermal and physical barrier
  • as release film
  • Base film for flexible composite films
The properties of the polyester film enable:
  • a reduction in the weight and volume
  • increased insulation properties
  • higher temperature loads
  • improved production processes and - conditions
  • Replacement of thicker films with more weight
